Torque Test System
A leading supplier to the aerospace industry manufactures critical components for use in flight, and there was a requirement to ensure that the components were being made to the correct tolerances and so function correctly when in use. To verify this a system was being used that performed In-Process Checks of components to ensure that the holding torque was correct. This was however manually controlled, and we were engaged to supply and fit an automation system that would apply an increasing torque to the component and then record the torque at which the component failed. This employed a Trio servo system at its heart with a bespoke PC application at the top level, this being coded in a high level language. The system proved to be very effective and successful.
