We have been heavily involved in the automation of CHP plants for many years, and have continued to be involved through the more quiet times of this industry sector as well as during its busy times. Usually using PLC, SCADA or DCS to control the plant, the desire for energy monitoring and optimisation of the complete system has increased in intensity through the years, and we are pleased to have been involved in implementing systems to optimise overall energy efficiency.
Using PLC & SCADA systems, DCS and high availability (dual redundant) solutions, we have implemented systems up to circa 20,000 I/O. Often working with main contractors, we form part of the delivery team to the end customer, and when our additional skills in the areas of ATEX, ESD and electrical design, build & installation are added to those of the main contractor capability then the total offer is complete.
